Paige Healy, RD, LD

Director of Bethany at Home and LifeChoices® at Bethany Advocate

I am a Registered Dietitian and earned my Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Iowa State University and completed my dietetic internship at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. While going to school in Ames, I fell in love with the town and the surrounding communities. I live with my husband Erick, and our two children, Emmett and Margo, in Story City. When I’m not at work I love to exercise, spend time outdoors, read, listen to music and try out new recipes! I have a true passion for health and wellness and helping others be the best version of themselves. My favorite part about my job is that I have so many opportunities to reach and help people. I get to make a difference in so many lives and help our LifeChoices members live healthy, happy lives and stay in their homes independently while they age in place.

Heather Estes

LifeChoices® at Bethany Advocate

I currently live in Nevada with my husband Kurt, two children Brooklyn and Logan and our spoiled dog Zeus. I came from a large family and I was raised in a small town in central Iowa. Some of my hobbies include traveling, camping, and enjoying the outdoors. As a family we are also avid Minnesota Viking football fans. I absolutely enjoy spending my free time with family and friends, and of course the scenery while on the back of my husband’s motorcycle. Before becoming an Advocate for Life Choices, I successfully owned and operated a licensed daycare in my home for 15 years. My passion has and will always be to care for and help others. I completed my CNA license, from DMACC, in April of 2022. This will give me additional knowledge and skills to better assist our aging members to remain in their homes.

Ashley DeMoss

LifeChoices® at Bethany Advocate

Hi! I am a member advocate and manager of Bethany at Home. I am originally from Knoxville, Iowa but I now live in Boone, Iowa with my daughter Rylie. I love camping, kayaking, riding motorcycles, hiking and really anything that involves being outdoors. My biggest passion is helping people, that is when I am at my happiest. In 2010 I received my AAS in occupational therapy and I have over 10 years of experience working in inpatient, outpatient, nursing home, hospital, and home healthcare. The thing that I enjoy most about my job is getting to know all of our amazing members. I feel extremely grateful to have the opportunity to make an impact in so many people’s lives and help them stay in their homes and independent as they age.

Austin Mortvedt

Executive Director of Home and Community-Based Services

Austin grew up on a farm outside of Nevada IA. He currently lives in Nevada with his two children, Ashton and Allison. The newest addition to the family is his dog, Rockey. Rockey is currently being trained as our Home and Community-Based Services dog and can be seen following Austin around Bethany Life. Austin originally went to school for Nursing but was presented with an opportunity in business and marketing that took him away from caregiving for a while. He also has a background in technology, all of those combined truly help him with his current position within Bethany Life. Now as the Executive Director of Home and Community-Based Services, Austin oversees anything outside of the walls of the nursing home. Currently that includes LifeChoices at Bethany – our continuing care at home program; Bethany at Home – private pay in-home care program; Timberland Village – our market rate independent and assisted living program; Cedar Place – HUD subsidized independent and assisted living program, and the growth and expansion of Bethany Life in the community as we continue to look toward the future and growth. Austin truly loves his job because he is able to help people stay in their homes as long as possible bringing the services, they may need to them as they age, as well as helping them stay active and healthy and doing things that they have always loved and enjoyed.
